This short video will show you the main features of Careers Connect and how to access them.Careers Connect is your way to sign up to careers events, book a one to one careers appointment, search & apply for jobs and access career articles, tips and advice.
Let's look at events.
Click on the ‘book’ dropdown menu at the top of the page and then click events.
On the events page you will see all the events coming up.
Click on an event to read more information and register your place.
You will notice that this event is online.
If you book onto an online event, you will receive the Zoom link in your email confirmation and reminder email.
If you can’t make an event, remember to cancel your booking via the link in the confirmation email.
Let’s look at appointments.
Click on the ‘book’ dropdown menu at the top of the page and then click appointments.
The appointment screen displays appointments tailored to your college.
Before you book or attend an application and recruitment appointment, please consider these additional services called
Pathways. These learning pathways are designed to help you get the most from your appointment.
Once you’ve done that, you can select an appointment to book.If the location has a Zoom link, this appointment will be online. Appointments listed with locations on campus will be face to face and in person.
Remember, appointments are only available 7 days in advance and can book up quite quickly.
If your appointment is online, you will receive a Zoom link in your confirmation email.
Now let's look at the jobs section.
Click the search menu and then click opportunities.
Each week hundreds of new jobs and placements are listed.
You can filter different opportunities by field of interest and a wide range of other measures.
Each job listing will have a description of the role, information on the employer and also instructions on how to apply.
One of the last features to look at is the Career Discovery Feed. You can access this section from the menu at the top.
The Career Discovery Feed is packed full of articles, tips and sector information. The more you search and interact with the articles, Careers Connect will start to display content related to your browsing.
