Empowering women's health decisions Charli Smith

Founder(s) name: Charli Smith

Industry Sector: FemTech/Menopause

Menopause is a natural life stage, not a barrier. We believe every woman deserves access to the knowledge and care that allows her to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.

At CFDiagnostics, we are redefining the way women experience menopause. Our mission is to empower women to understand their bodies through knowledge, science, and personalised care.

We will capture dynamic, personalised hormone patterns, in menopausal women that, when contextualised, help women understand how their hormone fluctuations relate to how they feel. Hormones do not move in isolation, they are influenced by stress (cortisol), nutrition, fasting, sleep quality, exercise timing, and intensity and much more. By tracking key hormonal changes over time, our platform will enable users to understand their unique patterns, identify imbalances, and make informed decisions about their health.

Our approach goes beyond data. It is about empowerment. Through tailored recommendations, evidence-based treatment options, and expert-led educational content, we provide women with the tools they need to manage symptoms, support long-term well-being, and take control of their health journey.

We are turning “noise” into insight, breaking stigma, promoting open dialogue, and ensuring women feel supported, informed, and celebrated at every life stage.

Our Story

As a biochemist I have always been fascinated with the way things work, constantly imagining up solutions to complex challenges. One challenge that has always bothered me, is societies approach to women’s health.

Our journey began with a simple but powerful mission; to change how women experience and understand their hormonal health, and, more specifically, the menopause.

This vision was born from personal experience. Having faced the challenges of living with a hormonal condition, I have seen firsthand how difficult it can be to find clear answers and meaningful support. Navigating symptoms, uncertainty, and frustration inspired me to create something better. A solution that empowers women to understand their bodies rather than feel defined by them.

What started as an idea grew into a purpose-driven project and one that gained international recognition when I competed with it in Dubai. That experience reinforced the global need for better tools, better data, and better conversations around women’s health.

Today, that vision is evolving into a platform designed to make hormone insights accessible, dynamic, and deeply personal. We will capture the full picture of hormonal changes and how they interact with everyday life, from sleep and nutrition to stress and movement.

This is more than science, its personal. It is about giving women the knowledge, support, and voice they deserve at every stage of their menopause journey.

Next Phase

Our next step is to formally register as a company with Companies House, a key milestone as we move from concept to impact. Beyond building innovative tools for women’s health, we are committed to fostering community connection and open conversation. That is why we are launching a Menopause Café, creating a welcoming space where women can share experiences, exchange insights, and find support without stigma.

Through the Elevate programme, I hope to deepen my understanding of the logistics behind developing and scaling a health technology business. I aim to gain strategic guidance on sustainable growth, funding pathways, and the operational foundations needed to bring our vision to life. This includes advancing research and development of the hormone testing and initiating a pilot trial to validate our approach.

To achieve this next stage, I am currently seeking £500,000 in pre-seed funding to support company formation, early R&D, and pilot implementation, laying the groundwork for a platform that empowers women to understand and take charge of their menopause.
