Our Story: Whilst studying abroad in America, I had an açai bowl for the first time in my life and instantly loved it! When I got back to the UK, I tried to find something that would recapture that feeling but was disappointed in both the quality and service here.
Luckily there is a Sunday market very close to where I live so I decided that I would be the one to fill the gap. I launched the product in August 2024 trading on every possible Sunday, and we have grown from strength to strength.
I enjoy travelling. Since starting the business and also working full-time, I haven’t been able to, but I look forward to doing again at some point in the future. I toured Italy after graduation and visited 32 different places within my 28 days there. I also love to read (most recently I’ve gotten into fantasy) and journal, especially outside when the weather is nice.
Next Phase: The next phase for the business is to expand to different market locations and grow the social media following across both Instagram and TikTok. The long-term vision is to become a franchiser specialising in outdoor markets and catering for events, offices, festivals and brand activations.
I have the business vision and some ideas, but I know there are areas that I can improve upon, for example I can be prone to tunnel vision. I am hoping that the elevate programme can equip me with the tools and knowledge to turn my vision into a reality and provide me with ideas and perspectives that I may not have considered as of yet. I am also eager to meet other entrepreneurs and join a network of people looking to get their business in front of more eyes.
Get Involved: I am not looking for investors per se, though I remain open to the idea. I am however looking for funding and would use this to upgrade my set up from my gazebo to a trailer which would allow me to expand my menu and significantly reduce the time and energy taken to set up in the mornings of trade. Additionally, I would like to consult with a franchise solicitor to begin laying the legal groundwork for what I hope to achieve. Lastly, I launched the business using the MVP approach and as such some of my equipment is no longer fit for purpose and would love to upgrade to meet the growing demand.
