Founder(s) name: Manpreet Saggoo, Michelle Montemayor, Oscar Collins

Industry Sector: Healthcare

Samoco designs smart medical transport device solutions to address delivery and last-mile limitations in extreme environments, with both military and civilian applications. Our mission is to revolutionise life-saving medical transport by designing efficient, drone and vehicle-integrated platforms that rapidly deliver medical resources, reducing time and saving lives in challenging environments.

Our Story

Samoco was born out of the glaring need for improved solutions to blood delivery in extreme climates and disaster zones. We formed a diverse team of biomedical scientists, healthcare technologists, and engineers, driven to tackle the challenge of improving outcomes for trauma patients in select regions of the world, who don’t have sufficient supply of usable blood. Shocking statistics for mortality following trauma injuries for almost half of the world population inspired us to design a novel device that challenges biology and physics, to deliver the blood that will save people’s lives.

To date, we’ve conducted extensive market research, both in the medical field surrounding blood delivery, and the fast-growing drone industry, with the aim to build a life-saving device that unites the worlds of healthcare and aerospace technologies. We have utilised advanced CAD (Computer Aided Design) simulation technologies to continually refine our designs and are preparing to develop a functional physical prototype. We’re also exploring opportunities to establish partnerships with drone and medical device manufacturers, as well as improving our business model and commercial strategy.

Next Phase

Elevate will allow us the unique opportunity to network with industry experts and other founders, both of whom we aim to learn from and grow. We hope to gain valued business support, as well as support with navigating the world of medical technology start-ups, such as regulation, legal, and financial landscapes.

We are excited to learn from the expertise and experience of industry experts, and utilise the knowledge and skills developed in incubation to maximise the potential of our business. The next phase for the business is to develop a strong business strategy that will empower us to source investors and partnerships and produce a physical prototype to take our designs to the next stage of the product lifecycle.

Get Involved

We are looking to raise £55,000 to take us to the next stage. This will include prototyping and testing and IP and regulatory costs. We will likely require additional funding in the year following this, to continue navigating the regulatory pathway and secure IP in other regions we aim to serve globally. Investors have the opportunity to get involved in an exciting, life-saving venture with huge market potential. We are also open to exploring partnerships with drone companies who have/wish to enter the medical transport industry.
