Hi, my name is Rishi Singh. I graduated from University of Birmingham in 2014 where I was studying MBA in international business. This is such a life-changing experience I had at the University. Since my graduation I’ve worked in the UK for some time in one of the most beautiful places of England, in Somerset, and then I moved back to India where’ve I've been leading projects with various large multinational companies based out of Europe and the UK and engaging their supply chains.

In India my specialization is into sustainability. I look at the people planet performance side of businesses and I work with businesses in creating solutions which create a positive impact on humans and basically supporting and respecting human rights in the value chains.

So having worked in the industry for more than 20 years I can support students in various ways.

The first and foremost is about sharing my own experience you know what really worked well, what did not go right you know what we’re learning of my own life so I would love to share that with students building their career now.

Second is to understand what kind of pathways really exist in careers in consulting and their various forms and today’s world is very flexible and agile so just to understand you know where do you fit in.

I also like to build a long term vision and future for careers of students you know where do they see themselves in the long run and how they can live a better fulfilling life and have better success, accomplishments, relationships as well as what they can do in terms of providing service to others.

So I bring in all of that and also a lot of cultural aspects from the east and I'm sure students will benefit from that.

So my tip of entering the consulting business field you know it’s certainly very challenging. Consulting is not easy you know, one has to be always on the toes and keep on engaging with large businesses and trying to find solutions.

So the tip would be to be adventurous, to be open, to be creative in our field you know the best skill or trait you can have is about engaging with people and understanding their problems and being more solution oriented. If you love all of that, then careers in consulting is the place to be in.

But I also work in the area of sustainability so if you want to do something for the planet or something for the good of the people and that's what we're observing you know in the era of coved 19 pandemic then this is the space for you and I can surely share with you know what kind of pathways really exciting careers for consulting and sustainability.
