Unigreenscheme is an asset resale business created by Michael McLeod which works closely with UK universities and the scientific industry to reduce waste and provide an environmental solution to equipment disposal, through reselling.
Michael McLeod's story:
Michael graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2013 with a Sport and Exercise Sciences degree and spotted an opportunity after walking past a skip on campus one day. His idea to resell equipment and recycle the revenue into university departments attracted interest from universities across the UK and he was awarded first prize in the national Santander Entrepreneurship Awards in 2016.
Today, Unigreenscheme has 17 staff based in three separate UK locations and has an annual turnover in excess of £1 million.
