Here are the features and fixes included in the latest website release on Wednesday 27 July 2023.
New features
Content types and entries (applies to /news /study and /jobs sections)
- News listing page - the design and layout of this page is now consistent with other listings across the site (e.g. course listing page). User filters for 'news categories' and 'news campaigns' can be added. The listing can also be pre-filtered by keyword, using the 'search data keywords' field, and by College, School, Department or Research Group.
- Footer - an extra item has been added to the footer across the site, for Culture Forward
- Featured videos component - structured data has been added to the videos to enable Google to display rich results for these
- Subject area landing page / course listing page - a course listing page can now be specified within the subject area landing page content type, so that when users search for course using the course search header, they can directed to an appropriate listing page with the academic level pre-ticked
- Content navigation cards with background component - a preferred title can now be supplied for each content navigation card, which is used in preference to the meta title of the linked entry.
- Course search - fuzzy search has been re-added to the course search, which means small typos still produce relevant results, e.g. a search for 'chemmistry' will produce results for 'chemistry'.
- Image carousel - on desktop, this now shows 2.5 images on first load if portrait images are used, and 1.5 images if landscape images are used.
Contensis Classic (applies to rest of site)
- Footer - an extra item has been added to the footer across the site, for Culture Forward
Bug fixes
Content types and entries
- Course listing page - if a user filter is pre-ticked (for example, on the short courses search, 'short courses' is pre-ticked), this is now kept in place for subsequent searches. Previously, the pre-filter was becoming unticked on second and subsequent searches.
